Meet the Director and Keeper of Public Records

Justine Heazlewood has worked for Public Record Office Victoria (PROV), the State's archival authority, since 1996. In 1998 she began working on PROV's electronic records program – the Victorian Electronic Records Strategy or VERS. She was involved in various PROV initiatives to promote and improve electronic recordkeeping until, in September 2003, Justine became Director of PROV and Victoria 's fifth Keeper of Public Records.
She is the Convener of the Council of Australasian Archives and Records Authorities (CAARA), the peak body for government archives in Australia and New Zealand, as well as Convenor of the Australasian Digital Recordkeeping Initiative (ADRI), a body set up by CAARA to collaborate and establish standards for digital recordkeeping. Justine has a background in history and public administration. She has a Masters in Internet and Web Technology from RMIT and another Masters in Italian Renaissance History from Monash University .
