My Dear Sir

Your letter of the 16th of last
month to hand.

I assure you I should have been proud to have
met you had you have been able to escort
Katie to me, but rest assured, she shall be happy,
if she is not so, it shall never be any fault of
mine, for I will leave nothing undone to make
her a happy little wife. I love her more than
I can tell you.

and as you say with kindness and attention she
will become herself again, I have built a nice
little house here and made it a [sic] comfortable as
possible, and I have every thing arranged for
our wedding the day after Dear Katies arrival.
I hope the next time I write you will be as your
brother for the present I remain

Yours truly
