Many of the documents on this site are downloadable either in Adobe's Portable Document Format (PDF), in Microsoft's Rich Text Format (RTF), or as a self-extracting compressed file in Microsoft's Word 6 format. The latter two formats are used for documents which may be intended to be downloaded and modified by the user.

For all of these document types you can choose to download a permanent copy of the file to your hard drive rather than viewing it onscreen through your browser. You will particularly need to make a permanent copy when you intend to modify the document for your own use or transmission back to us. This download can be performed in the following ways:

For Netscape users: Hold down the SHIFT key while left mouse clicking on the link.
For Internet Explorer users: Right mouse click on the link. Choose the "Save Target As..." option.

To view PDF files you need a viewer. The Acrobat Reader can be downloaded from the Adobe website.

Some of the PDF documents are very large and may contain a number of different graphics. Some printers (particularly older printers or small desktop printers) may not have enough memory to print an entire large PDF file. If you are having problems printing any PDF files on this website you might try the following procedure:

1. Download the PDF file rather than view it:
2. Open the PDF file in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
3. Print the file in small sections, 20 pages at a time.
