Winners of the 2009 PROV Family History Competition
The competition theme “Are there Skeletons in your closet?” produced some real gems in this year’s family history competition. A number of entries stood out though and the judge’s unanimous decision was to choose “The Unknown Lives of Abigail Lowe”, Diane Granger’s fascinating story of migration and bigamy as this year’s first prize winner. “Thomas Lewis”, a story of love and tragedy by Barbara Smith was a close second. Third place went to Brian Millett and his tale of heroism, courage and sadness in “William Halse Millett – A Gallant and Forgotten Hero”. The three winning entries are hyperlinked above. Please note that the texts are copyright to their respective authors and may not be reproduced without permission. Congratulations to the winners and a big thank you to all those that
entered.
