Sir,
I am directed by the Governor
to acknowledge the receipt of your
letter of the 3rd. May last addressed
to His Excellency, in which you represent
that the man Buckley while preparing
under your instructions to accompany
Messrs. Naylor and Parsons into the
Country, to ascertain the fate of Mr.
Gellibrand had his horse severely
damaged, apparently maliciously, and
to such an extend [sic] as to render the
animal useless; and to acquaint you
in

in reply, that under the circumstances,
Sir Richard Bourke approves of your
providing him with another Horse,
at the most reasonable rate for which
you can procure one.
I am also instructed to inform
you, that the Governor authorises your
establishing a perambulating Police,
as you recommend, to consist of
aborigines under steady Europeans.
