Sir,
The bearer Samuel Windridge
has applied to me to recommend
him to your Honor, for the appointment
of Sergeant in the Native Police.

The appointment has appeared in
Estimates for this year, and if it is
your Honors intention to fill up
the appointment I have the
Honor to recommend him as
a fit person to hold it. He has
served as a Sergeant in Her
Majesty’s 28th Regt. of Foot, and
from his discharge and the Certificates
he can shew from the Officers of
his Regiment he appears to have been
