[Document 44/1177a comprises a list of Aboriginal Native Police with some annotations [page 1] and a calendar of what each individual Native Policeman was doing over the period 1 July 1843 to 30 June 1844. The calendar is two sheets of paper that were removed from a bound ledger. In the ledger, this would have provided three ”openings”. In the calendar, the names of the whole force are listed down the left of the first ‘opening’; ‘remarks’ are recorded in the right column of the last ‘opening’. Columns for the days have been hand-ruled, over which annotations have been made for each Native policeman stating where he was, and what he was doing.

Because of the size of the document, it has been transcribed, page by page, in the form of individual ‘biographies’. However, the document’s full title, the list of names from the first ‘opening’ and the ‘remarks’ from the last ‘opening’ have also been transcribed as an independent list, identified as [Summary List].]
