Port Fairy 21st Octr. 1846

Sir,
We deem it a gratifying
duty to inform Your Honor,
that during the residence [crossed out: of] in
this District, of a party of the
Native Police, under the
Command of Mr Dana, one
property has been effectually
protected from the ravages of
the Aborigines, whose depredations
had been considerable, previous
to the arrival of that body.

conduct of the men, while
quartered at our stations,
was such as to merit our
entire approbation.

Mr Dana has lately
been recalled, and we
have reason to fear that the
Aborigines will again resume
their depredations.

We would therefore beg
leave to request that Your
Honor would sanction their
return
