Commr Crown Lands Office
Alberton, 2nd February 1847

Sir,
It having been reported
to me that the Native Police
under Your command, while
on duty on Mr Macalister’s Station
on Sunday week last, came up
with, and killed a number of
Aborigines - I have to request
you will immediately furnish
me with a full report of the
occurrence.

At the same time I beg
to remind you that the orders
I have received from the Governmt
on the subject of collisions with
the Aborigines are not to be
misunderstood - and that it
is your duty, whenever you are
called upon to act against the
Aborigines

Mr W Dana
