one addressed to you by Mr.
Tyers, forwarding a copy of the
enquiry made by him relative
to a collision which took
place between the Party of
Native Police under Mr. William
Dana, engaged at the time in searching
for

explain why he did not furh ye report
reqrd of him by C.C. Tyers.

In reply, I am directed
by the Governor to inform you,
that Mr. Dana should be
called upon to explain why
he did not furnish the
Report required from him
by Mr. Tyers (as mentioned
in the latter Gentleman’s
Communication). His Excellency
also desires me to observe,
that Mr. Dana appears to
have acted with great
want of discretion – to say
the least of it – in the
matter
