which I submitted to Your Honor

honor to acquaint you, that, having
had the boats put in repair, I
despatched Sergeant Windridge to the
outlet of the Lakes with the two
whale boats on the 6th. inst. and
followed myself with the third
crew on the 9th. having heard from
some Warrigals that Bungeliene
was there.

On arriving at the camp at
5PM I found that Bungeliene, after
some little persuasion, had taken
up his quarters with the white
party-

him corroborates the original
Statement of the boy Tackawadden,
and the other statements transmitted
to your Honor with my letter No 49/47
and is to the effect that a
vessel was wrecked on the ninety-
mile beach eight or nine years
ago, in the summer time - that
ten men and one woman came
on shore from the wreck - that the
men went along the beach in the
direction of Cape Howe - and that
the white woman was detained
by the Blacks - He describes
the figure-head of the Vessel as an
image of a white woman, with a
Cap on her head, curly hair and
her arms broken off at the elbow
holding a spear [Crossed out: illegible]
The figure-head is preserved in the
Scrub, near the beach, and can be
obtained- He admits the white
woman is still in existence, and
that he left her in the mountains
a short time since in charge
of his brothers-
