Dear Sir
The Two Black Policemen
of your Corps Sou Wester & Portfairy Jack
are starting today for Melbourne after rendering
important service by the Capture of two blacks
at Browns Station near Eumeralla who had
Committed some depredations last year, and who
have been accordingly Committed to take their Trial
at Melbourne, they are taking with them two
other Black men, Called good morning Bill, and
Billy, as recruits, and who I hope may prove
themselves as useful as, their elder bretheren
from here, - The Bench of Magistrates have paid
to Sou Wester, & Jack the sum of Four pounds
to defray the expence of themselves and Horses
and therefore hope that you will Call on
