Sir,
I have the honor to report
for the information of His Excellency
the Lieutenant Governor, that in accor-
dance with orders I have formed a
Station on the north side of the Deep
Creek, on a head between the crossing
place and Mr Brodie’s station: the posi-
tion commands the roads on both sides
of the river. I have left one officer
and eight men at the camp Deep Creek
and a Corporal and six men at the
Police Barracks Gisbourne, with
orders

orders in the absence of the Comman-
ding Officer, to be at the disposal
of the Commissioner of Crown Lands -
Mr Powlett. I have not as yet
got the detachment finally arranged
owing to the difficulties of transport
but in the course of a week everything
will be in working order.
I have also in accordance
with instructions placed two Troopers
on Mr. Ross’ Station on the Campaspie
there not being accomodation for more
men or horses for the present.
I have also visited
the Kilmore Station of the Mounted
Patrol & found everything in
satisfactory
satisfactory order, and the Patrol regularly
carried on.
