Sir/
I have the honour to acknowledge the
receipt of your letter of Thirteenth inst. infor-
ming me that His Excellency the Lieutenant
Governor had been pleased to authorise my
raising another party of Patrol Police, to be
placed under the immediate command of Mr.
W. A. P. Dana, and to be employed to patrol
the sevaral lines of road between Melbourne
and Gisbourne, and to place the Head Quarters
for the present at The Deep Creek.
I have now the honour to re-
port, that I have taken steps for the im-
mediate organization of the party, which
I hope to complete in about ten days or a
fortnight -

Mr. Wm. A. P. Dana - Subaltern Commanding
Rations, and Forage for one Horse - £300.0.0 pr. Annum
Mr W. Sayer Price. Second in command &
[ditto] - rations 10s/6d – pr. diem
One Corporal at 7s/- pr. diem
Thirteen Troopers at 6s/. pr. diem
[ditto] - with rations and clothing
