VICTORIANS AT WORK is a snapshot of the diversity of work undertaken by Victorians over the past two centuries drawn from PROV's photographic collections.

PROV has thousands of photographs, created by government agencies and departments to document their activities, achievements and works in progress.

Through the photographs we explore changing fashions, new technologies, dangerous jobs, back-breaking work, and occupations that are now obsolete.

The photographs reflect fundamental changes to the nature of work since colonial times, and provide insight into Victorian innovation, industry and community life.

The exhibition will premiere at the Victorian Archives Centre in North Melbourne (10 December 2007 - 29 February 2008) and will then tour around Victoria.

Stay tuned for touring dates and destinations.
