Playing MPEG-4 video help

Many PROVcast files are very large, particularly video files. If you have a dial-up connection, you will most likely experience very long delays downloading a PROVcast file. Even if you have some form of broadband connection, downloading a PROVcast file may still take a long time, depending on the type of broadband connection that you have. Generally MP3 audio files will download much faster than video files, so if you have a slow Internet connection, or you want quick access, this is the best option for you.

The video files available for download on this page are in MPEG-3 (mp3) format. In order to listen to mp3 audio you will need the appropriate Windows Media Player codecs from here.

If you are trying to access these video codecs from an intranet or have a firewall on your home computer, your existing media player may be unable to download the appropriate decoder to play our mp3 files - please contact your system administrator for assistance or read read the help file in your firewall program.

Alternatively, you may download and use Zoom Player or VLC media player, both of which have in-built support for mp3. Both of these players are free to download and quick to install. VLC is an open source product.
