Services to Government

Record Services is the branch of PROV that provides government with best practice records management, including advice, standards and policies, disposal authorities and ensures the selection and transfer to PROV of Victoria’s archival records.
We provide the following services:
• Advice and Guidance for Managing Records.
• Authorising disposal.
• Testing compliance
• Training
• Records Transfer (paper and digital)
• Certify secondary storage locations (Approved Public Record Office Storage Suppliers (APROSS).

In addition Record Services provides a range of consultancy services to agencies and in support of effective and accountable digital recordkeeping. Consultancy services are focussed on the needs of the ten inner government departments, however there are opportunities for work with other agencies. These services are described in detail here.
Service Level Charter
This charter sets out the standard of service that our clients and stakeholders
can expect from PROV's Record Services workgroup. With feedback, we seek
to continuously improve our services to the Victorian Community, the Victorian
Public Service and the wider international records management communities.
We will do this by responding to the changing needs of our clients and
stakeholders, while supporting the development of best practice records
management and selecting and maintaining Victoria's archival record.
