This Specification should be read in conjunction with the following two Specifications:

VERS Metadata Scheme (Specification 2), which defines the purpose and allowed values of the metadata elements referred to in this Specification.
VERS Long Term Preservation Formats (Specification 4), which lists the approved long-term formats for various types of record content.
