2 VEO Types
Three types of VEOs are defined in this Specification:
- Record VEO. A record VEO contains a representation of a record. The
VEO contains both the record content and the associated metadata.
- File VEO. This is a representation of a recordkeeping file (normally
referred to as a folder in this Standard, as there is often confusion
between recordkeeping files and computer files).
- Modified VEO. This is a VEO that has been modified since it was originally
created. A modified VEO contains the original VEO. This VEO has been
added in Version 2.0 of the VERS Standard and is intended to replace
the onion mechanism specified in Version 1.0.
