5.2 Selection of signed portion
Not all of the contents of a VEO are signed. This portion of the VEO that is signed is selected using the algorithm in the next section.
5.2.1 VERS mechanism
The digital signatures cover the <vers:SignedObject> element including the start tag (<vers:SignedObject) and end tag (</vers:SignedObject>). The first character to be included is the '<' of the <vers:SignedObject> start tag, and the last character is the '<' of the matching end tag.
